Mogeri Gopalakrishna Adiga

Sri Gopalakrishna Adiga was born in Mogeri village in the northern part of Dakshina Kannada (South Kanara) district. His initial education was in Dakshina Kannada but he later moved to Mysore where he obtained his BA(Honors) and MA in English from Mysore university.

He was a lecturer in Sharadavilas and St. Philomena Colleges in Mysore and in Kumta college. Later on he was a principal in Poornaprajna college in Udupi and Lal Bahadur Shastri College in Sagar. He also occupied the positions of the director of the National Book Trust and was a research fellow in Simla's National Institute of Advanced Studies.

Apart from being the President of the 51st Kannada Sahitya Sammelana, he has been the recipient of the following awards.

As an editor of the "SAkshi" magazine, he was a guide to the "hosa samvedane" and "hosa abhivyakti" (New expression) techniques. (abhivyakti=expression, samvedane= ?)
