It is a fact of our recent literary history that Gopalakrishna Adiga has been a potent influence on a whole generation of Kannada writers. It is also a fact that this influence has been a liberating one; the poems of our younger writers bear testimony to this. While speaking of recent Kannada poets we cannot, with any justification, speak of the "sons of Adiga:. Our poets who have felt the impact of Adiga have had to chart their own course, mould their own idiom, in short become poets in their own right.
A very good synopsis of Sri. Adiga's poetry. This has been translated from an article in the Vishwa kannada magazine.
